Hallmarks In Precious Metals

The Hallmarking Act of 1973 is a way that you can be reassured when you are buying something in a precious metal, be it platinum, gold, silver or palladium.

At the time of manufacture, it is independently examined by one of the U.K.'s Assay Offices to verify the levels of the precious content and hallmarked accordingly.

The chart here is also displayed in store, and explains the different aspects of a Hallmark.  Our personal Hallmark is registered with the Sheffield Assay Office but we do also sell jewellery with the Birmingham and London marks.
